Meira Goes Ice Skating!

Meira went ice skating with Abba, and was very nervous at first. Towards the beginning she fell down a lot, and I was reluctant to let her skate on her own. She refused to even use the Skate Mate for support to lean on, despite many adults using one. At first I was hovering over her to stand her up every time she fell, until Meira told me "Abba, I'm fine, I don't need you to stand so close". Difficult as it was, I gave her space and watched her tumble countless times, only to spring back up with a huge smile and continue gliding along. Soon enough she was skating like a pro, and I learnt a valuable lesson. Sometimes parents have to let their children fall a few times, always ready to catch them, but only if the child is ready to be caught.
